Shirts That Smell Like Yellow

Shirts That Smell Like Yellow is a series of paintings created by Raymond F. Pauszek II over a thirty plus year career in a factory manufacturing offset lithography ink for the commercial printing industry. Realizing the material similarities between oil based ink and paint, cotton and linen, and the accumulated mark making of manual and artistic labour, Tim Pauszek, acting as Duchampian Curator, fitted his father’s work shirts over stretchers, hung them in a gallery, and wrote of them as art and of his father as artist. The paintings were exhibited in Ainslie, ACT, Australia, on May Day.
